WKU Offering Summer Big Red
Orchestra And Piano Camp

Bowling Green, Ky. - The Music Department at Western Kentucky University is offering the Big Red Orchestra and Piano Camp for seventh through 12th graders this July.

"The Big Red Music Camps is a musically enriching, fun-filled week for violinists, violists, cellists, double bassists and pianists," said Mitzi Groom, head of Western's Music Department. "Throughout the week, these junior and senior high school students will enjoy memorable opportunities for musicianship at the only program of its kind in this part of Kentucky."

The camp, which runs July 10-16, includes six supervised nights in a WKU residence hall, all meals at the Downing University Center, a pass to the Preston Health and Activities Center, fun evening activities, orchestra and piano ensemble rehearsals, music enrichment classes and a final concert in Van Meter Auditorium. Private lessons are optional.

The week will also include daily rehearsals, repertoire and duet classes, student recitals and performances by guest artists and faculty.
