Parking Structure Construction
To Cause Parking Changes

Bowling Green, Ky. - As contractors begin preparing Diddle Lot for the construction of a new parking structure, those using the lot will face parking adjustments.

On Tuesday, Sept. 7, half of Diddle Lot from University Boulevard to the Diddle Arena ticket office window will be blocked off. The remainder of the lot will be blocked off beginning Monday, Sept. 13. A drive from University Boulevard to Big Red Way will remain open throughout the project.

The lot will remain out of service for the 2004-2005 academic year with the new parking structure scheduled for completion in July 2005.

Those displaced by the construction have several parking options. The Campbell Lane lot next to the Hattie Preston Intramural Complex will be able to accommodate many commuters. It is serviced by the Campbell Lane Shuttle every 15 to 20 minutes. This shuttle will also stop at the Creason Drive lot in both directions.

Additional overflow parking will be provided behind the Center for Research and Development at Campbell Lane and Nashville Road, across from the Campbell Lane lot. Students will be able to ride the South Campus Shuttle from this parking lot to South Campus as well as the main campus.

Beginning Sept. 7, the South Campus Shuttle will be the only shuttle servicing the South Campus. Parking at the South Campus is intended for commuting students, staff and faculty. Resident students should leave cars parked at the main campus and take the shuttle to the South Campus.
