Gingerbread House Workshop
To Provide Tips For Contestants

Bowling Green, Ky. - To help contestants prepare their entries for the Gingerbread House Contest at the third annual Farmers National Bank Holiday Home Festival, Elaine Smith will conduct a Gingerbread House Workshop on Thursday, Oct. 7 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 9 from 10 a.m. to noon at the ALIVE Center on 31-W Bypass.

Smith, who has been making—and teaching others to make—gingerbread houses for more than 10 years, will provide tips on how to build a better gingerbread house. Light refreshments will be provided.

The Farmers National Bank Holiday Home Festival is hosted by WKYU-PBS, the public television service of Western Kentucky University. It is scheduled for Nov. 13-14 at the Sloan Convention Center in Bowling Green. The festival will include vendors, demonstrations on techniques for holiday cooking, entertaining, decorating and crafts, and children's activities. Admission is free, and the hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on the 13th, and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the 14th.
