Southern Kentucky Book Fest October 15, 2004 The Southern Kentucky Book Fest Scholarship will provide a single one-year full-tuition scholarship awarded annually to Kentucky resident students majoring in English, education or library media education. Applicants must maintain a 3.0 grade-point average to be eligible. "I'm thrilled that we're able to provide a scholarship for a deserving WKU student who shows strong support for our mission, which is to encourage reading and the love of books by all, both children and adults," said Dr. Mike Binder, dean of Libraries at WKU. The scholarship was established in the WKU Foundation from proceeds from the Book Fest, which is held in April. Recipients will be asked to assist as possible with the certain aspects of the Book Fest. A special scholarship committee made up of members of the Book Fest partnersWKU Libraries, Bowling Green Public Library and Barnes and Noble Booksellerswill select the recipient.
