ALIVE Center Hosts Make A
Difference Day Event

Bowling Green, Ky. - The ALIVE Center (A Local Information and Volunteer Exchange) will be coordinating Holy Spirit Catholic Church's confirmation candidates in a day of service to the Bowling Green community for national Make A Difference Day, Saturday, Oct. 23.

Holy Spirit's young people will be volunteering from noon to 2:30 p.m., and their tasks will include a clean-up project at Lost River Cave, helping Potter Children's Home with an upcoming recognition banquet and sorting clothes at Helping Hands. The group will also be visiting residents at Britthaven nursing home and the Bowling Green Retirement Center, raking leaves for the elderly, cleaning up Saint Joseph's cemetery and helping organize the St. Vincent DePaul food pantry.

Make A Difference Day is a national day of helping others—a celebration of neighbors helping neighbors. Created by USA WEEKEND Magazine, Make A Difference Day is an annual event that takes place on the fourth Saturday of every October.

The mission of the ALIVE Center is to promote placement and effective use of youth and adult volunteers and to provide access to information and resources enhancing human service delivery.

Any individual or group may contact the ALIVE Center at 270-782-0082, Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. for more information about ways to Make A Difference in the Bowling Green-Warren County area through volunteerism and community service. The Center is located at 1818 31W Bypass in Bowling Green.
