Bowling Green, Ky. - A retired Western Kentucky University art professor from Hopkinsville has been honored by the Kentucky Craft Marketing Program and the Kentucky Museum of Arts and Design.

Lysbeth Wallace recently received the 2004 Rude Osolnik Award, which recognizes Kentucky artisans for their contributions to the craft community, preservation of craft traditions through teaching and sharing, and exemplary workmanship.

Wallace taught weaving, design and art survey at WKU from 1965 to 1985. Her weavings have been widely exhibited in local, regional and national juried shows. She also researched and designed a series of 17 murals in downtown Hopkinsville that depict the city's history from 1800 to 1950.
