Bowling Green, Ky. - The third annual Farmers National Bank Holiday Home Festival will be Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 13-14 at the Sloan Convention Center in Bowling Green. This free, community-wide holiday celebration features crafts, vendors, how-to demonstrations, children's events and the area's only gingerbread house contest.

The Farmers National Bank Holiday Home Festival will bring together the best of the holiday season under one roof. Attendees can gather decorating, entertaining and gift-giving tips, and find great deals on merchandise ready to take home. Demonstrations will be held throughout both days beginning at noon on the main stage.

This year's children's event will be Saturday at 10 a.m., when children will get hands-on practice at proper table manners, telephone etiquette, and suitable social skills. Junior Cotillion representative Melissa Rush will conduct the demonstration. Children will also have a chance to make and personalize their own Christmas card and share their wish list with Santa. Jay Jay The Jet Plane will be on hand to greet the youngsters Saturday at 10 a.m., 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.; and again Sunday at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.

Returning to this year's event will be the Gingerbread House Competition. The contest is open to children, adults, schools, non-profits, industries and business throughout the area who compete in separate divisions. Entry into the competition is free in all divisions. More than $1000 in U.S. Savings Bonds will be awarded to the winners. Entry forms are available at www.wkyu.org, and entries will be accepted until Nov. 12.

The Farmers National Bank Holiday Home Festival will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. Admission is free. Persons needing information about the Festival, Gingerbread House Competition or setting up as a vendor should call 800-599-2424.

Presenting sponsors for the event are Farmers National Bank, Lowe's, and the Holiday Inn University Plaza and Sloan Convention Center. Proceeds from the event will benefit WKYU-PBS.
