Girls In Science Day Scheduled
For April 17 At WKU

Bowling Green, Ky. - The third annual Girls in Science Day is scheduled for April 17 at Western Kentucky University.
The event for fifth- through eighth-graders will consist of hands-on activities to increase participants' confidence in math and science.
During the morning session, girls will attend sessions in math, engineering and science. In the afternoon, they'll participate in a team project.
Session topics include environmental issues, sports psychology, crime scene investigation, robotics, electricity and magnetism, race car construction, polymers and the physics of musical instruments.
Girls in Science Day begins at 8 a.m. with registration at Thompson Complex Center Wing, room 129. Class sessions begin at 9, 10 and 11 a.m. The team project begins at 1:15 p.m. followed by demonstrations and awards at 2:30 in TCCW 129.
Faculty from the Ogden College of Science and Engineering and the Department of Psychology will teach the courses. Girls in Science Day is co-sponsored by the Women's Studies Program.
