July 08, 2004
Bowling Green, Ky. - The Public Radio Service of Western Kentucky University just completed its best-ever fiscal year with a record $325,000 in community support raised. The funds came primarily from listeners, with additional support from area businesses and organizations that support the station.
"The communities we serve have always been very supportive, but the strong showing this year was especially gratifying," Station Manager Peter Bryant said. "These are the funds we rely on to purchase and produce the programs we broadcast, which makes community support absolutely essential. We're very grateful for the generosity and active involvement of the listeners we serve each daythis is how public radio is supposed to work, and we're delighted to see it working so well here."
