Clock/Watch Appraisal Day
Planned At Kentucky Building
July 19, 2004
Bowling Green, Ky. - The Kentucky Library and Museum and Dixie Chapter 16, Nashville, Tenn., of the National Association of Watch & Clock Collectors, Inc., are partnering to host an antique and heirloom clock and watch appraisal day, 10am 4pm, Saturday, Aug. 14, at the Kentucky Building on the Western Kentucky University campus.
IT'S ABOUT TIME!: ANTIQUE AND HEIRLOOM CLOCK AND WATCH APPRAISALS will be an "Antiques Roadshow"-type event. Antique and heirloom clock and watch owners are invited to bring their timepieces to the Kentucky Building to have an NAWCC member look at them, share as much information as is available and then make an appraisal.
Each individual may have two (2) timepieces appraised. Appraisals, which will be verbal, not formal, legal appraisals, will be free, however, participants are invited to make a donation to help defray event costs.
Owners are solely responsible for transporting, handling and security of timepieces. Antique clocks too large to be moved and handled easily will be appraised using photographs provided by the owner.
Buying and selling is strictly prohibited.
A special added feature will be a display of antique and heirloom clocks and watches from the collections of NAWCC members and the Kentucky Museum, and audiovisual presentations showing clock-repair techniques will occur throughout the day.
Food and beverages will be available for purchase on site.
