WKU'S Laura McGee To Participate
In Leadership Program

Bowling Green, Ky. - Dr. Laura G. McGee, an assistant professor of German at Western Kentucky University, has been selected to participate in a leadership program in the field of German language education.
Dr. McGee will participate in TrainDaF (DaF stands for German as a Foreign Language), a program that aims to build future leaders in the field of teaching German. The program, established by the American Association of Teachers of German (AATG) in cooperation with the Goethe-Institut, is in its fourth year and is funded through the German government.
Participants will strengthen their leadership skills, develop strategies for advocating German at all levels of instruction and deepen their understanding of Germany and the European Union. Participants also will learn more about the activities of the AATG and the field of world languages.
Program participants will attend an orientation meeting April 22-25 in Washington, D.C., will take part in seminars in Germany this summer and will attend the AATG meeting Nov. 18-21 in Chicago.
