Author Cynthia Enloe To Present Lecture March 2 At WKU

Bowling Green, Ky. - Author Cynthia Enloe will present a lecture titled "Why Does the Pentagon Worry So Much about Women?" on March 2 at Western Kentucky University.

Dr. Enloe, a research professor of government at Clark University in Worcester, Mass., studies the impact of militarism, state policies and politics on the lives of women, ethnicity and the military, and other topics.

She is the author of more than a dozen books, including "Maneuvers: The International Politics of Militarizing Women's Lives" and "Bananas, Beaches and Bases: Making Feminist Sense of International Politics."

Dr. Enloe will speak at 7:30 p.m. in the Mass Media and Technology Hall Auditorium. The lecture, sponsored by the Women's Studies Program, is free and open to the public.
