WKU Will Adjust Parking
For Sun Belt Tournament
February 23, 2004
Bowling Green, Ky. - As host of the Sun Belt Conference men's and women's basketball tournament, Western Kentucky University will adjust its parking policies for the March 6-9 event at Diddle Arena.
The Diddle parking lot will be reserved for media, staff and fans and will not be available for normal use by WKU faculty, staff and students.
The second, third and fourth floors of the parking structure, normally the commuter and special events levels, will be used for tournament patrons and may be closed to commuter parking when necessary.
Students who live on campus and have "B" parking permits may continue to park on the fifth, sixth and seventh floors of the parking structure during the tournament. Vacated spaces on these levels may be used by tournament patrons, but students with "B" parking permits will be allowed to enter the structure at any time.
The South Lawn parking lot also will be unavailable to faculty and staff parking during the tournament, but patient/client parking and some service vehicle spaces will remain available in the South Lawn lot.
Additional shuttle routes may be offered during the late afternoon and evening hours on March 8-9 to accommodate commuter students taking night classes as well as assisting patrons parking in SKyPAC and/or Creason lots.
The parking policies may be subject to change or adjustment given the outcome of tournament games. For questions about tournament parking, contact the parking operations staff with the WKU Police Department at (270) 745-2548.
