Reading Rainbow Storytime To
Feature Classic Christmas Book

December 13, 2004

Bowling Green, Ky. - You may have seen the blockbuster movie, but if you haven't read the book yet this holiday season, you'll want to bring the whole family along to hear WKYU-PBS producer and host Barbara Deeb read The Polar Express at Reading Rainbow Storytime at the Bowling Green Barnes & Noble 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 18.

A magical train ride on Christmas Eve takes a boy to the North Pole to receive a special gift from Santa Claus in this classic by Chris Van Alsburg. First published in 1985, and recipient of the 1986 Caldecott Medal, the book is a holiday bestseller that has been enjoyed by young and old alike year after year.

WKYU-PBS and Barnes & Noble have worked together for several years to promote literacy and reading. As part of that partnership, WKYU-PBS Reading Rainbow Story Time is held the third Saturday of each month at 3 p.m. in the Children's Department at Barnes & Noble on Campbell Lane in Bowling Green.

WKYU-PBS is the public television service of Western Kentucky University.
