Bowling Green, Ky. - The Division of Institutional Advancement at Western Kentucky University received several honors at the annual meeting of the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education in Kentucky (CASE-K).
The division received best in the state awards for overall alumni relations program, total educational fundraising program and media relations project for "View from the Hill." Western has been recognized as having the best fundraising program in three of the past four years and the best overall alumni program for three years in a row.
The division also received three awards of excellence: fundraising project, media relations project and magazines for The Western Scholar.
The division received merit awards in excellence in feature writing and general news story.
"We are very proud to once again receive state-wide recognition for our programs in development, alumni relations and media relations," said Tom Hiles, vice president for Institutional Advancement at Western.
"This was our most competitive program to date, with a record number of institutions and entries," said Marci Hicks, immediate past president of CASE-K.
Bob Edwards, assistant vice president for University Relations at Western, was elected president of CASE-K. He was the chair of the program held Dec. 9-10 in Hebron, Ky.
