Events Set For Sept. 18-21

Bowling Green, Ky. - Next week will be a time to celebrate as Western Kentucky University announces its campaign fund-raising total, welcomes parents and prospective students, and renews a football rivalry with Eastern Kentucky.

Campaign total: The "Investing in the Spirit" total and a major gift will be announced at a news conference at 9 a.m. Sept. 18 at the Guthrie Bell Tower. For information, contact Institutional Advancement at (270) 745-6208.

*President's Circle Gala: The University will celebrate the campaign's successful completion at the annual President's Circle Gala at 6 p.m. Sept. 19 at Preston Health and Activities Center lawn. For information, contact Lucinda Anderson at (270) 745-5309.

*Board of Advisors: Western's Board of Advisors will begin its annual meeting at 8 a.m. Sept. 19 at Mass Media and Technology Hall. For information, contact Rick DuBose at (270) 745-5405.

*Parents Weekend: Activities for parents of WKU students will begin at 6 p.m. Sept. 19. Highlights include a WKU women's soccer game at 7 p.m. Sept. 19, residence hall receptions at noon Sept. 20 and the President's Festival on the Green at 4 p.m. Sept. 20 on the Preston Center lawn. *Focus on Western: Prospective students and their families will participate in numerous activities showcasing WKU. Registration begins at 10:30 a.m. Sept. 20 in Diddle Arena followed by informational sessions. For information, contact Admissions Office at (270) 745-2551.

*WKU vs. EKU: For the first time since 2000, the Hilltoppers and Colonels renew the state's oldest football rivalry. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. Sept. 20 at L.T. Smith Stadium. For tickets, contact the WKU Ticket Office at (270) 745-5222.
