WKU Alumni Board Of Directors September 22, 2003 Donna Harmon of Bowling Green is the 2003-04 president of the Western Kentucky University Alumni Association Board of Directors. Harmon, a 1982 graduate, has served on the board for three years. She is the director of business development at American Bank and Trust Company, Inc. She and her husband, Spike, have one daughter. New board members are: John Asher of Louisville, a 1990 graduate who is the vice president of communications at Churchill Downs. Asher and his wife, Deidre, have three daughters. Angela Baker of Newburgh, Ind., a 1990 graduate who is director of marketing and business development with GFI Research Center of West Pharmaceutical Services in Evansville, Ind. She and her husband, Jeffrey, have three daughters. Cindy Crume of Fremont, Neb., a 1987 graduate. She and her husband, Gene, have two children. David Dickerson of Glasgow, a 1990 graduate who is business manager at Dickerson Lumber Company. He has two sons who both attend Western. Ronald Markwell of Delavan, Wis., a 1958 and 1960 graduate who is a retired teacher and currently an innkeeper of the Allyn Mansion Inn Bed and Breakfast. Markwell has two children. His partner is Joe Johnson. Kent Preston of Henderson, a 1993 graduate who is vice president of Adams Street Development Corporation. Lee Mitchell Ralph of Tampa, Fla., a 1976 graduate who is co-owner of Insurance Resources in St. Petersburg, Fla. She is also a part-time realtor with Coldwell Banker in Tampa. She and her husband, Jeff, have three children. Lt. Col. Todd Shipp of Lizella, Ga., a 1985 graduate who is with the U.S. Army 335th Theatre Signal Command. He is the staff general secretary for a two-star general in East Point, Ga. His wife is Debra Shipp. Phyllis Gatewood Washington of Indianapolis, a 1979 and 1982 graduate who is a university administrator and instructor at Martin University in Indianapolis. Her husband is Jerry Washington. A member is appointed to the position based on demonstrated involvement, support and commitment to Western Kentucky University and the Alumni Association. The role of the Board of Directors is to guide, foster and develop Western's alumni program by overseeing the direction of the Alumni Association.
