WKU Honors Alumni, Volunteers
At Annual Summit Awards
October 31, 2003
Bowling Green, Ky. - Western Kentucky University recognized its top volunteers, alumni chapters and alumni Thursday night at the fifth annual Summit Awards.
Distinguished Service Medals to recognize the service of the University's top three volunteers were presented to Lowell Guthrie, Romanza Johnson and Pete Mahurin, all of Bowling Green.
Chris Barnett of Bowling Green, president of the Warren County Alumni Chapter, was named Young Alumnus of the Year.
Bev Furnish Humphrey of Park Hills, president of the Northern Kentucky Alumni Chapter, was named Alumna of the Year.
The Barren County, Greater Louisville, Muhlenberg County and Warren County alumni chapters were recognized as Spirit of Distinction Alumni Chapters for their efforts in organizing alumni events, community service projects, student recruitment and special events.
University-wide volunteer of the year awards were presented to the following:

Romanza Johnson of Bowling Green, College of Education Advisory Council.
Mike and Amy Littell of Louisville, Parents' Advisory Council.
