WKU Hosting State Marching
Band Finals On Saturday

Bowling Green, Ky. - Western Kentucky University is hosting the 2003 State Marching Band Championships on Saturday.
Finals in the competition sponsored by the Kentucky Music Educators Association begin at 6 p.m. at L.T. Smith Stadium. Tickets for the finals are $10; group tickets may be ordered by calling 1-800-5BIGRED.
Four finalists each from four classifications will be selected earlier Saturday in semifinals.
Class A semifinals begin at 11 a.m. at Bowling Green High School; AA semifinals begin at 11 a.m. at Franklin-Simpson High School; AAA semifinals begin at 10:45 a.m. at Allen County-Scottsville High School; AAAA semifinals begin at noon at WKU's Smith Stadium. Tickets for semifinals are $8.
Marching bands competing in the semifinals include the following:
Class A (40 or fewer playing members): Rowan County, Taylor County, Oldham County, Logan County, Bourbon County, Breckinridge County, Lloyd Memorial, Marion County, Nicholas County, Trigg County, Boyle County, Barren County, Hazard, Nelson County, Williamstown, Owensboro.
Class AA (41 to 60 playing members): Paris, LaRue County, Shelby County, Apollo, Harrison County, Grayson County, South Oldham, Muhlenberg North, Madison Central, Caldwell County, Mercer County, Elizabethtown, Conner, Hopkinsville, Adair County, Calloway County.
Class AAA (61 to 80 playing members): Allen County-Scottsville, Henry Clay, George Rogers Clark, Christian County, Meade County, Cumberland County, John Hardin, Lone Oak, Ballard, Daviess County, Glasgow, Seneca, Muhlenberg South, Lawrence County, Murray, Ohio County, Russell County.
Class AAAA (81 or more playing members): Madisonville-North Hopkins, Eastern, North Hardin, Male, Paul Laurence Dunbar, Lafayette, Greenwood, Henderson County, Campbell County.
