Director Of WKU Forensic Team
Named Coach Of The Year
October 30, 2003
Bowling Green, Ky. - Judy Woodring, director of Western Kentucky University's award-winning speech and debate program, has been named the 2003 Kentucky Forensics Coach of the Year.
The award was presented last weekend at the Owensboro Community College Invitational.
"I have had many wonderful years working with the other forensic coaches from our state," said Woodring, director of the William E. Bivin Forensic Society. "I'm honored to have been chosen to receive this award as it is named after an outstanding community college coach, David Carter. Dr. Carter represents all that is positive and good about our activity."
Earlier this year, the WKU forensic team continued its tradition of national and international success by becoming the first school to win the National Forensic Association, the American Forensic Association National Individual Events, the International Forensic Association and the Delta Sigma Rho-Tau Kappa Alpha national tournaments in the same year. The team also won the Kentucky Forensic Association State Tournament and numerous other events last season.
