Bowling Green, Ky. - U.S. Rep. Ron Lewis will be the guest speaker for a Veterans Day program Nov. 11 at Western Kentucky University.

The program, sponsored by WKU Army ROTC, will begin at 11 a.m. at the Guthrie Tower.

"Our intent is to have a Veterans Day celebration at the traditional time of the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month to properly recognize the countless sacrifices made by veterans who have protected our great nation and to highlight WKU Army ROTC," said Lt. Col. John Baker, professor of Military Science and Leadership.

The program will begin with the posting of colors by the ROTC color guard and the playing of the National Anthem. After remarks from Rep. Lewis, a wreath will be laid at the statue of Sgt. 1st Class Robert Guthrie followed by the playing of Taps.

Following the Veterans Day program, the Army ROTC program will conduct an open house at its facilities in Diddle Arena.
