Holiday Festival To Include
Gingerbread House Contest

Bowling Green, Ky. - The Farmers National Bank Holiday Home Festival will feature a new addition this year: a Gingerbread House Contest.
The festival, hosted by WKYU-PBS, is scheduled for Nov. 22 and 23 at the Sloan Convention Center in Bowling Green and will include vendors, demonstrations on techniques for holiday cooking, entertaining, decorating and crafts, and children's activities. Admission is free; hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Nov. 22 and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Nov. 23.
The deadline for submitting Gingerbread House Contest entry forms is Nov. 14. Completed entries may be delivered and set up at the convention center between noon and 2 p.m. Nov. 22. The entry must be made of edible products (primarily gingerbread), except for the base.
Individuals may enter in Youth I (age 12 and under), Youth II (age 13 to 17) or Adult (age 18 and up) categories. The contest also has categories for schools, non-profit organizations, industry and business.
Entries will be judged for overall appearance, originality/creativity, difficulty, precision and consistency of theme. Judges will select the winners beginning at 2 p.m. Nov. 22. Prizes will be awarded in each category.
