Southern Kentucky Festival Of Books Wins
First Place For Excellence In Marketing At
Tourism Council Conference

Bowling Green, Ky. - The marketing campaign for the Southern Kentucky Festival of Books was recently honored by the Kentucky Tourism Council.

The festival received first place in excellence in marketing campaign at the council's annual conference Oct. 14 at the Galt House in Louisville.

The festival is presented each spring by Western Kentucky University Libraries/Kentucky Museum, Bowling Green Public Library and Barnes & Noble Booksellers. It is the state's largest literary event.

The Kentucky Tourism Council presents the Traverse Awards each year to honor the best work in advertising and marketing among Kentucky tourism businesses and organizations. This year, a panel of out-of-state experts in tourism marketing judged a record 154 entries.

The Kentucky Tourism Council is a Frankfort-based state association that represents every segment of Kentucky's tourism industry. The 455-member organization offers continuing education programs, works in the area of governmental relations and provides legislative advocacy for Kentucky's travel industry.
