Johnson Represents WKU At
Mt. Laurel Festival

Bowling Green, Ky. - Western Kentucky University student Sylvia Marie Johnson of Louisville represented WKU in the Kentucky Mountain Laurel Festival in Pineville, Ky., held Memorial Day weekend.

Johnson is a senior broadcasting major and the daughter of Walter and Anne Johnson. She was selected to represent WKU from among several candidates nominated from various organizations. Johnson was nominated from the WKU Spirit Masters.

In addition to being a Spirit Master, Johnson is a member of the Big Red Marching Band and the Campus Activities Board. Students representing Kentucky's universities and colleges competed for scholarship money during the annual festival.
