Speech, Debate Tournaments

Bowling Green, Ky. - The Kentucky High School Speech League held its Senior State Speech and Debate Tournaments on March 27-29 on the campus of Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green.

The following schools placed in the top 10 in the speech tournament: Graves County, first; Paul L. Dunbar, second; Knott County Central, third; Boone County, fourth; Danville, fifth; Kentucky Country Day, sixth; Bethlehem, seventh; Calloway County, eighth; Lafayette, ninth; Murray, 10th.

The Horizon Award is given to schools with smaller entries, but show excellence by receiving a high number of sweepstakes points. The top five schools in this category were Conner, first; Harrison County, second; East Jessamine, third; Tates Creek, fourth; Bourbon County, fifth.
