Additional Parking For WKU
Students To Become Available
March 05, 2003
Bowling Green, Ky. - Just in time for the Sun Belt Conference Tournament, about 300 additional parking spots will be available for commuting Western Kentucky University students beginning Monday morning, March 10.
The parking spots will open on the Miller property, located at the corner of University Boulevard and Old Morgantown Road. This lot will be reserved for commuter students temporarily displaced by the tournament, which runs March 6 11 in E.A. Diddle Arena.
"We are grateful to the Miller family for allowing us to use this property for our students," WKU President Gary Ransdell said. "This will help ease the strain of on-campus parking during the tournament. We have tried to be sensitive to the needs of our students and appreciate their understanding."
The Diddle Arena Lot will be reserved for the tournament. The general public will be allowed to park in the parking structure for $5.
Students parking in the Miller lot should cross University Boulevard at the pedestrian crosswalk at the Dogwood Road intersection. The crosswalk was installed by the state highway department several months ago.
Commuting students may also park in the lots in the SKyPAC area or on Campbell Lane and ride the shuttle to campus.
