Six Stops Planned For Annual July, 02, 2003 Western coaches Darrin Horn, Mary Taylor Cowles and David Elson highlight the annual caravan that will make July and August stops in Elizabethtown, Glasgow, Owensboro, Louisville, and Paducah as well as Nashville, Tenn. Representatives of the WKU athletic department, alumni association and other University programs will be in attendance at each event. "Toppers on Tour is a chance for Western fans to literally get swept up in Hilltopper hysteria that has been growing with incredible speed and by huge proportions," said Athletic Director Wood Selig. "It is a great chance for Western to take our show on the road and say thanks to those loyal fans who have supported us throughout the years." Donald Smith, executive director of the WKU Alumni Association, agreed. "We're excited about getting out to these communities, spreading the word about the good things happening at Western and generating support for the University," The Toppers on Tour schedule is as follows: July 23, Nashville, Tenn.: 1:30 p.m. CDT golf outing at The Legends followed by official program at 6:30 p.m. July 24, Elizabethtown: 12:30 p.m. EDT golf outing at Pine Valley Golf Course followed by official program at 6 p.m. EDT at Freeman Lake Park. (This stop is part of annual "Welcome Western Picnic" for incoming students.) July 28, Glasgow: 6 p.m. CDT at Tumbleweed Restaurant. Aug. 1, Owensboro: Fridays After Five at RiverPark Center; official program begins at 7 p.m. CDT in the center's Experimental Theater. Aug. 4, Louisville: 12:30 p.m. EDT Lee Robertson Golf Classic at Indian Springs Golf Club followed by official program at 6 p.m. EDT. Aug. 7, Paducah: 6:30 p.m. CDT at Whaler's Catch Restaurant.
