High School Seniors

Bowling Green, Ky. - Western Kentucky University on Wednesday honored 100 high school seniors from Daviess and surrounding counties for their high academic achievement.

Students from Apollo, Daviess County, Hancock County, Henderson County, McLean County, Muhlenberg North, Muhlenberg South, Ohio County, Owensboro Catholic, Owensboro Senior and Whitesville Trinity high schools were honored during the annual High School Scholars Luncheon at the Owensboro Executive Inn. All of the students qualify for at least a renewable full-tuition scholarship to WKU.

The group included 44 Governor's Scholars, nine National Merit Semifinalists and had an average grade-point average of 3.89 and an average ACT score of 28.9. The average in Kentucky is less than 21.

Students honored included:
From Apollo High School: Eric Clouse, Linzie Coke, Rachel Doom, Lindsey Fares, Cara Grandy, Lauren Hagan, Robert Harris, Nathaniel Holcomb, Lauren Johnson, Krystal May, Josh Payne and Matt Vied.

From Daviess County High School: Kate Berry, Eric Carlson, Jiaxi Ding, Celia Eby, Kelsey Fort, Amy Gray, Kendal Hershberger, Michael Hunzinger, Wesley Janson, Alex Johnson, Kathryn Land, Erin Malony, Ami Maru, Clay McGuffin, Charneice McKenzie, Jeffrey Oldham, Vaishall, Shah and Ashley Taylor.

From Hancock County High School: Joseph Corley, Chris Wettstain and Robbert Zuercher.
