Finalist For National Award

Bowling Green, Ky. - The College Heights Herald, Western Kentucky University's student newspaper, has been named a collegiate crown finalist by the Columbia Scholastic Press Association.

The award, either a Gold Crown or Silver Crown, will be presented March 22 at the College Media Convention in New York City. Ryan Clark, a December graduate from Louisville, was editor in the fall of 2001 and Louisville senior Brian Moore was editor in the spring of 2002.

Of the 1,749 CSPA members eligible, 1,550 magazines, newspapers and yearbooks entered the competition.

Other newspaper crown finalists are from Ball State University, Santa Ana College, the School of Art Institute of Chicago, Indiana University, Iowa State University, Kansas State University, University of Texas at Arlington, University of Alabama, Northwestern University, University of Texas at Austin, University of Michigan, Murray State University and Arizona State University.

The Herald won a Gold Crown in 2000 and two in 2001.
