Honor High School Seniors

Bowling Green, Ky. - Western Kentucky University and South Central Bank on Tuesday honored 29
high school seniors for their high academic achievement.
Students from Glasgow, Barren County, Caverna, Metcalfe County and Monroe County high schools were honored during the annual High School Scholars Luncheon in Glasgow. All of the students qualify for at least a renewable full-tuition scholarship to WKU.
The group included 15 Governor's Scholars and a National Merit Semifinalist; had an average grade-point average of 3.925 and an average ACT score of 26.82.
"This is an opportunity to congratulate you whether you intend to go to Western or whether you intend to go to any other university in the land," WKU President Gary Ransdell said. "We hope a lot of you do chose to attend Western, but wherever you chose to go, be proud of what you've achieved and use that as a springboard to what you can do at the postsecondary level."
Students honored included:
From Glasgow High School: Danielle Beard, Cassie Bourassa, Saurin Chokshi, Jimmy Davenport, Blake Dennis, Katie Garrett, Josh Gilreath, Danielle Jones, Erik Lundin and Laney McMurtrey.
From Barren County High School: Amanda Adams, Stefanie Bragg, Ashley Gibson, Adam Glover, Cody Lorton, Kenny Morrison, Tyler Pace and Aimee Young.
From Caverna High School: Sumeeta Kapur.
From Metcalfe County High School: Ashley Roe Jessie and Tonya Sexton.
From Monroe County High School: Matt Bowles, Amy Carter, Tasha Comer, Brandi Hamilton, Megan Hamilton, Crystal Holcomb, Tracey Kirk and Amy Miller.
