Sharpton Visit To WKU Canceled
For Today And Wednesday
February 25, 2003
Bowling Green, Ky. - A visit by civil right activist and Democratic presidential candidate The Rev. Al Shaprton to Western Kentucky University has been canceled.
A scheduling conflict forced the cancellation, according to Dr. Saundra Ardrey, head of WKU's Government Department. Sharpton's staff discovered that he had previously been booked to speak in Washington State this morning, making it difficult for him to make a lecture scheduled for 7 p.m. today, she said. Wednesday's breakfast and luncheon activities have also been canceled.
Dr. Ardrey said she would be in contact with Sharpton's staff to see if the visit can be rescheduled.
