Bowling Green, Ky. - Western Kentucky University astronomers are offering a closer look at Earth's close encounter with Mars next week.

WKU astronomers and the Hilltopper Astronomy Club will provide free public viewing opportunities on Aug. 26, 27 and 28 at the Thompson Complex rooftop observatory.

Those interested should meet at 9:30 p.m. in the lobby of Thompson Complex, Central Wing. Children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

For information, contact the Department of Physics and Astronomy at (270) 745-4357.
