Second Annual Girls In Science
Day April 26 At WKU

Bowling Green, Ky. - The second annual Girls in Science Day is scheduled for April 26 at Western Kentucky University.

The Women in Science and Engineering at WKU (WISE@WKU) and the Women's Studies Program are offering the event for 100 girls in fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth grades.

Girls in Science Day will consist of hands-on activities for girls to increase their confidence in math and science. Each girl will attend three science and engineering classes taught by faculty and will participate in a team competition.

The event begins at 8 a.m. with registration in Thompson Complex Center Wing, room 129. Classes will be conducted from 9 a.m. to noon at various locations in the Ogden College of Science and Engineering. The team project will begin at 1:15 p.m. followed by the awards presentation at 2:30 p.m.; both will be in Thompson Complex Center Wing, room 129.
