Two WKU Faculty Members Named
To Leadership Roles
Bowling Green, Ky. - Two Western Kentucky University faculty members have been appointed to academic leadership roles, Provost Barbara Burch announced this week.
Dr. Robert Dietle, associate professor of history, will serve as the coordinator of General Education. "In this position, Dr. Dietle will ensure that we give ongoing attention to the development and effectiveness of our General Education program," Dr. Burch said. "In the immediate future, he will lead our efforts to develop meaningful assessments of General Education as we prepare for SACS (Southern Association of Colleges and Schools) reaccreditation."
Dr. Cecile Garmon, professor of communication, will serve as interim coordinator of Leadership Studies, a recently approved interdisciplinary program offering both undergraduate and graduate certificates in Leadership Studies. "Dr. Garmon will oversee the development of these exciting new programs for students on campus as well as for nontraditional students in area businesses and industries," Dr. Burch said.
