WKU Professor Honored By
Georgetown College
Bowling Green, Ky. - Dr. Patricia M. Taylor, a professor of English at Western Kentucky University, was the 2002 inductee into Georgetown College's Maskrafters Hall of Fame.
The Maskrafters, one of the oldest collegiate drama societies west of the Allegheny Mountains, will celebrate its 80th anniversary in 2004. A reception in Dr. Taylor's honor was held during Georgetown's Homecoming on Oct. 19.
As an undergraduate, Dr. Taylor toured England in the Maskrafters' productions of "The Book of Job" and "John Henry" and appeared at the World's Fair in "The Book of Job." She has returned to Georgetown as guest lecturer, guest artist, panel judge and contest adjudicator.
At WKU, Dr. Taylor teaches dramatic literature, play writing and history of drama. She has taught acting, introduction to theatre and stage makeup. She has performed professionally in Kentucky at the Kentucky Center for the Arts in Louisville and at Horse Cave Theatre and appears with Public Theatre of Kentucky in Bowling Green.
Dr. Taylor, a Mayfield High School graduate, is currently supervising 20 WKU students at Cambridge in England for WKU's Cooperative Center for Study Abroad. She is teaching Modern British Drama, Irish Drama and Theatre of the Absurd.
