WKU Student Crowned Queen
Of Mountain Laurel Festival
Bowling Green, Ky. - Lisa Chestnut, a May Western Kentucky University graduate from Glasgow, was

crowned queen of the Kentucky Mountain Laurel Festival in Pineville this weekend.
Chestnut, the daughter of Mike and Jess Chestnut, is the first WKU candidate to win the crown since 1984.
"The whole weekend was so much fun," she said. "They really treated me like a queen all weekend."
Chestnut, who received her degree in communication disorders, said she will use the $1,000 scholarship to attend graduate school.
The Kentucky Mountain Laurel Festival, held May 23-26, is the second largest festival in the state behind the Kentucky Derby Festival.
