WKU Gordon Ford College Of Business
Presents Awards

Bowling Green, Ky. - The Gordon Ford College of Business at Western Kentucky University held its Sixth Annual Recognition and Awards Dinner on April 12 at the Knicely Institute for Economic Development.

Faculty and staff receiving recognition for the 2001-02 academic year included: Dr. Thomas Noser, Outstanding Teaching Award; Dr. H. Youn Kim, Outstanding Research Award; Dr. Douglas Fugate, Outstanding Public Service Award; Dr. Linda Parry; Outstanding Student Advisement Award; Dr. Robert Pulsinelli and Dr. Randall Capps, co-recipients Outstanding MBA Teacher Award; Sheri Henson, Lou Prida Student Service Award; Karen Braun, Anne and Dan Greenwell Support Staff Award; and Dr. Jeff Butterfield, the Vitale Award for Initiative, Innovation and Leadership.

Two awards were given to acknowledge outstanding achievement by Gordon Ford College of Business alumni. Mary Nixon was recognized as the 2001-02 Outstanding Alumni for the Ford College. Nixon is a 1977 accounting graduate and serves as vice president and USA controller for Tricon Global Restaurants in Louisville. Brent Mason was recognized as the 2001-02 Outstanding Recent Alumni for the Ford College. Mason, a 1992 finance graduate, is vice president-district trust manager with U.S. Bankcorp, Firstar Bank in Bowling Green.

Students receiving presentation awards were as follows: Matt Bogard, Ramsey "Best Paper" in Economics Award; Jason Wilgus, National City Bank Student Leadership Award; Lindsay Hinton, Kristin Knott, Ryan Meredith, Heather Riney,

Kristina Zoglmann, the Delta Sigma Pi Golden Key Award based on academic grade point average; Phillip Wininger, the Wall Street Journal Award in Economics; Kelli Fogle, the Wall Street Journal Award in Finance; Amanda London, the Leon Page Scholar; and Ryan Meredith, the Dean's Student Achievement Award.

The Office of Global Business recognized two individuals with its Global Entrepreneur Award: Peter Kimaru, student representative, and Michael Cole, general manager of Franklin Precision, industry partner.

The Gordon Ford College of Business recognized the following as outstanding students and graduates for the 2001-02 academic year: Amanda Gaudette, Outstanding Junior in Accounting; Mark Rawlings, Outstanding Junior in Economics; Richard Fontenot and Stephanie Lindsey, Outstanding Juniors in Finance; Kevin Kleinholter, Outstanding Junior in Computer Information Systems; Matthew Harlow, Outstanding Junior in Management, and Benton Smith, Outstanding Junior in Marketing.

The following seniors were honored: Kristina Zoglmann, Outstanding Accounting Senior; Phillip Wininger, Outstanding Economics Senior; Ryan Meredith, Outstanding Finance Senior; Keneth Jones, Outstanding Computer Information Systems Senior; Kristin Knott, Outstanding Management Senior; and Kristin Firkins, Outstanding Marketing Senior.

Michael McShane was recognized as the Outstanding MBA Student for 2001-02. Ryan Meredith received the Overall Outstanding Gordon Ford College of Business Graduate Award for 2001-02.
