Results From Senior Speech
Tournament At WKU

Bowling Green, Ky. - The Kentucky High School Speech League held its Senior State Speech Tournament March 22-23 at Western Kentucky University.

Graves County finished first overall in the speech tournament followed by Knott County Central, Paul L. Dunbar, Boone County, Danville, Kentucky Country Day, Bethlehem, Greenwood, Murray and Calloway County.

The top five schools in the Horizon Award were Betsy Layne, Henry Clay, Russellville, Bryan Station and LaRue County. The Horizon Award is given to schools with smaller entries, but show excellence by receiving a high number of sweepstakes points.

Dramatic interpretation: Nathan Hodson, Knott County Central, state champion; Marikia Williams, Knott County Central, second; Whitney Sallee, Boone County, third; Rowen Haigh, Danville, fourth; Maggie Waid, Graves County, fifth; Kristen Messina, Paul L. Dunbar, sixth.
