Public Affairs Reporting Seminar
March 15 At WKU

Bowling Green, Ky. - Western Kentucky University will host a reporting seminar March 15.

Writers from several newspapers will talk about their jobs, provide tips for reporters and offer story ideas.

"The Public Affairs Reporting Seminar is a service project of the student chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists designed to provide continuing education for working professionals," said Jim Highland, journalism faculty member and SPJ adviser.

The student group is hosting the seminar with support from WKU's School of Journalism and Broadcasting and the Kentucky Press Association. The daylong seminar begins with registration at 8 a.m. at Gordon Wilson Hall and ends at 3:45 p.m.

Speakers scheduled to attend include Frank Boyett of the Gleaner in Henderson; Matt Batcheldor of the Courier-Journal; Linda Blackford of the Herald-Leader; C.D. Bradley of the Paducah Sun; and Debi Highland of the Daily News in Bowling Green.
