WKU Music Graduate Honored
At Trombone Festival

Bowling Green, Ky. - A Western Kentucky University music graduate was honored recently in the International Trombone Association's quartet competition.

Lee Blakeman, a 2000 graduate from Bowling Green, is a member of the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music's trombone quartet. The group won the inaugural quartet competition May 23 at the 2002 International Trombone Festival at the University of North Texas.

Blakeman, who graduated from Greenwood High School, will graduate from the College-Conservatory of Music this year.

Other members of the quartet, coached by David Vining, are Samuel Barlow of Jackson, Tenn.; Scott Dunn of Albertson, N.Y.; and George Curran of Farmington, Mich.
