WKU Student Found Dead
In Residence Hall Room
Bowling Green, Ky. - A Western Kentucky University student found dead in his residence hall room

Monday night died of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Nathan Eisert, 20, a sophomore from Louisville, was found about 8:15 p.m. in his room in Pearce-Ford Tower.
Eisert was the son of Jan Ulrich of Louisville and Glenn Eisert of Bowling Green. He was a walk-on member of the Hilltopper basketball team, but had been recently dismissed for academic reasons.
WKU President Gary Ransdell said he was saddened by the news of Eisert's death. "This is a very tragic situation," he said. "We will keep Nathan and his family in our prayers and offer any support that we can. It is devastating any time a young person's life is ended prematurely."
Head Basketball Coach Dennis Felton said: "The thoughts and prayers of all of us associated with Hilltopper basketball go out to Nathan's family. He was an important part of our program the past two seasons and all of us who knew him were shocked and devastated by his tragic death. We loved him and we're going to miss him."
Gene Tice, vice president for Student Affairs and Campus Services, said counselors are available to all hall residents by contacting the PFT staff.
