July 22, 2002 Dr. Julia Roberts Elected To NAGC In addition to her duties to the board, Dr. Roberts has been appointed to the Executive Committee as the financial secretary for the organization. The NAGC is a national, nonprofit organization comprised of parents, teachers, educators, community leaders and other professionals who advocate the needs of gifted children. The NAGC responds to the needs of giftedness from all cultures, racial and ethnic backgrounds and socioeconomic groups. Through organizational research and development, NAGC strives to engage in policies that will improve the quality of education for all students. This appointment is not the first honor bestowed upon Roberts by NAGE. In 2001, she was received the first National Association for Gifted Children David W. Belin Advocacy Award. Dr. Roberts is a member of the Kentucky Association for Gifted Education Board of Directors and the Governor's Advisory Council for Gifted and Talented Education.
