WKU, WNKY Honor 32
High School Seniors From 5 Counties
Bowling Green, Ky. - Western Kentucky University and WNKY-NBC 40 honored 32 high school seniors from Allen, Butler, Edmonson, Logan and Simpson counties Friday for their academic achievements.
The students received certificates and scholarship offers during the annual High School Honors Luncheon. All of the students qualify for at least a full-tuition Regents Scholarship at WKU.
As a group, the students had an average grade-point average of 3.97 and an average ACT score of 29. The group included 16 Kentucky Governor's Scholars and one National Merit Semifinalist.
The students honored included:
From Allen County-Scottsville High School: Lesley-Anne Brandy, Michelle Bishop, Suzanne Doss, Mary Heath, Lance Lee, Mark Park, Hannah Roberts, Sarah Vinson and Dalton Young.
From Butler County High School: Amanda Childress, Gabrielle Cohron and Shiloh Pendley.
From Edmonson County High School: Michael Guy and Stephen Miller.
From Franklin-Simpson High School: Richard Hunt, Lesslye Perry and Kirk Smith.
From Logan County High School: Megan Bryson, Nathan Cockrill, Amanda Hendricks, Meredith Hughes, Kevin Jackson, Dustin Jenkins and Jennifer McCarty.
From Russellville High School: Johnna Arnett, Kyle Fritsch, Chris Leach, Michelle Lewis, Lindsey Riley, Andrea Sindorf, Angela Stratton and Kayela Wilkins.
Also, three students from Barren County High School who were not honored at the luncheon in Glasgow last week received certificates today. They were Amanda Lee Houchens, Wendy Mathews and Megan Nunn.
