Annual Prism Scheduled Jan. 18
At WKU
Bowling Green, Ky. - Western Kentucky University's Department of Bands will present its annual PRISM Concert at 8 p.m. Jan. 18 in Van Meter Auditorium.
The concert format features a rapid-fire sequence of varied ensembles and musical selections that will be staged in different locations in the performance hall. Coupled with lighting and other visual effects, the PRISM Concert is always one of the most exciting concerts of the year.
This year's concert will include a selection named "Voodoo," which is a special effects thriller, and a composition titled "Heroes, Lost and Fallen," which honors those who lost their lives on Sept. 11.
Ensembles include the WKU Symphonic Band, Percussion Ensemble, Jazz Ensemble, Basketball Band, Clarinet Choir and other groups.
Admission is $10; $5 for students and senior citizens. Proceeds benefit the WKU music program.
Tickets will be sold at the door, but to guarantee seating, tickets may be purchased at several outlets, including Royal Music, Courtyard Café and the WKU Music Office.
For more information, contact Dr. John C. Carmichael, director of bands, at (270) 745-5893 or the Music Department at (270) 745-3751.
