WKU Forensics Team Finishes
Third In Tourney At Bradley
Bowling Green, Ky. - Western Kentucky University's speech and debate team finished third in overall sweepstakes at a tournament in Peoria, Ill.
WKU's William E. Bivin Forensic Society was among 35 of the nation's top forensics teams competing Jan. 12-13 at the Bradley University/University of Texas-Austin Swing Tournament.
Individual results are as follows:
Margaret Au, a sophomore from Evansville, Ind., third in duo interpretation and semifinalist in prose interpretation in the Bradley portion; semifinalist in poetry interpretation in the Texas portion.
Alisa Ponananta, a Florence senior, third in duo interpretation in the Bradley portion; fifth in programmed oral interpretation in the Texas portion.
David Wilkins, a Bardstown senior, third in extemporaneous speaking in the Bradley portion; fifth in impromptu speaking in the Texas portion.
Drew Allen, a sophomore from Brentwood, Tenn., fourth in duo interpretation and semifinalist in poetry interpretation and prose interpretation in the Bradley portion; second in after-dinner speaking and semifinalist in prose interpretation in the Texas portion.
Keith Blaser, a junior from Evansville, Ind., fourth in duo interpretation and a semifinalist in prose interpretation in the Bradley portion; a semifinalist in poetry interpretation in the Texas portion.
Caleb Williams, a freshman from Lewisville, Texas, fifth in duo interpretation and a semifinalist in informative speaking and programmed oral interpretation in the Bradley portion.
Adam Henze, a freshman from Evansville, Ind., fifth in duo interpretation and semifinalist in dramatic interpretation in the Bradley portion.
Phillip Wininger, a Bowling Green senior, seventh in rhetorical criticism and semifinalist in extemporaneous speaking and persuasive speaking in the Bradley portion; fifth in persuasive speaking, sixth in rhetorical criticism and semifinalist in extemporaneous speaking in the Texas portion.
Katie Tyree, a sophomore from Plymouth, Ind., semifinalist in dramatic interpretation and prose interpretation in the Bradley portion; semifinalist in duo interpretation in the Texas portion.
Joel Smith, a Murray freshman, semifinalist in after-dinner speaking in the Bradley portion; semifinalist in duo interpretation in the Texas portion.
Andrew Causey, a sophomore from Franklin, Tenn., semifinalist in dramatic interpretation in the Bradley portion; sixth in after-dinner speaking in the Texas portion.
Sarah Sparks, a Morehead senior, semifinalist in impromptu speaking in the Bradley portion; fifth in extemporaneous speaking in the Texas portion.
Nicole Estenfelder, a Florence freshman, semifinalist in persuasive speaking in the Texas portion.
