McConnell, Ransdell To Tour Apollo High School
Tuesday Following Technology Initiative

Bowling Green, Ky. - U.S. Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) and Western Kentucky University President Gary Ransdell will tour Apollo High School in Owensboro on Tuesday following an announcement of funding for a technology initiative.
The announcement will begin at 10:15 a.m. and will include remarks from McConnell and Ransdell as well as Daviess County Schools Superintendent Stu Silberman, Apollo Principal Dale Stewart, and WKU Psychology Professor Leroy Metze.
McConnell will also present a symbolic check for $900,000 in federal appropriations for the first two years of E-train Express, including $500,000 McConnell helped secure this year.
The project is designed to increase the number and quality of new teachers who are highly effective in using technology in the classroom. WKU will partner with the 28 school districts in the Green River Regional Educational Cooperative, Owensboro Public Schools, the Compass Learning Corp. and NetTango.
