WKU'S Enrollment Of 15,580
A Record For Spring Semester
Bowling Green, Ky. - Western Kentucky University's record enrollment growth has continued into the 2002 spring semester.
Preliminary figures show a headcount of 15,580 students, an 8 percent increase (1,162) over the 14,418 in the 2001 spring semester, according to Registrar Freida Eggleton. The previous record spring enrollment was 14,923 in 1992.
"Although the University has experienced an increase in most areas and programs, the most significant increases have been observed at the Glasgow Campus and at our community college," Eggleton said.
Enrollment is up 18 percent at WKU's Bowling Green Community College and 20 percent at the WKU-Glasgow campus, she said.
Last fall, WKU set a record enrollment of 16,579 students.
