Coming Home Reunion Weekend
Feb. 22-23 At WKU
Bowling Green, Ky. - Coming Home 2002 at Western Kentucky University will be a time to celebrate the past, present and future of Hilltopper and Lady Topper basketball.
"Coming Home 2002 will be a great time to be in Diddle Arena and share with those who laid the foundation for the basketball tradition and celebrate the success of current players," said Mary Beth Frith, associate director of Alumni Relations.
Western closes the 2001-02 regular season Feb. 22-23 with games against Middle Tennessee. The Lady Toppers play at 7 p.m. Friday, while the Hilltoppers tip off at 7 p.m. Saturday.
Hilltopper and Lady Topper seniors will be honored in pregame Senior Night activities both nights.
Former WKU players, coaches and managers will visit with each other and fans in a Reunion Room before both games. Six championship teams will be recognized in halftime ceremonies during Coming Home weekend.
Several former WKU players also will participate in a free throw shootout during halftime of Saturday's game.
Coming Home highlights for students include residence hall contests, Big Red's Growl on Friday night and the crowning of Coming Home King on Saturday night.
"Our goal is to allow Coming Home to reach the level of Homecoming that we have during the football season," Frith said. "The students have gotten really involved with Coming Home this year."
