WKU To Host Robert PennWarren
Symposium April 21
Bowling Green, Ky. - The Robert Penn Warren Center at Western Kentucky University will host its 15th annual Robert Penn Warren Symposium at 2 p.m. April 21 in room 103 of the Garrett Conference Center.
This year's speaker is Professor William Bedford Clark, noted Warren scholar from Texas A&M University. His topic will be "Letters from Home: Some Speculations on Filial Guilt in Robert Penn Warren."
Also at the symposium, Paul V. Murphy, author of "The Rebuke of History: The Southern Agrarians and American Conservative Thought," will receive the 2001 Robert Penn Warren-Cleanth Brooks Award, presented by the Center for Robert Penn Warren Studies at Western. Murphy is an assistant professor of history at Grand Valley State University in Allendale, Mich.
