Sears Elected WKU
Student Government President

Bowling Green, Ky. - A Western Kentucky University junior from McCracken County has been elected Student Government Association president for 2002-03 and will serve as the student representative on WKU's Board of Regents.

In online voting, Jamie Sears, a Melber public relations major, received 1,284 votes while senior Sam Stinson, a Bowling Green computer science and English major, received 594.

In the race for executive vice president, junior John Bradley, a Paducah religious studies major, defeated sophomore Dana Lockhart, a German major from Hendersonville, Tenn., 1,065 to 730.

Senior Ross Pruitt, a Hanson agribusiness major, was unopposed for vice president of finance and received 1,524 votes.

The race for vice president of public relations was the closest with junior Anna Coats, a Bowling Green print journalism major, defeating junior Holly Skidmore, a Shepherdsville marketing major, 933-809.

In the race for vice president of administration, junior Brandon Copeland, a Bardstown government major, defeated sophomore Patti Johnson, a Marion corporate communications major, 1,106-761.
